Our Mission

To Know Him And To Make Him Known

Our Mission Statement

Livonia Community Church exists for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a place for the worship of Almighty God, our heavenly Father; to provide for Christian fellowship for those of like precious faith: and to assume our share of responsibility and the privilege of propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ by all available means, both at home and in foreign lands.

Our Core Values

  • The Holy Scriptures are our ultimate basis of authority for belief and practice.
  • Freedom for expressive worship that allows the Lord to manifest His Presence in every gathering.
  • Systematic Bible study available for all age groups in the church.
  • Promotion for, participation in, and financial & prayer support for evangelism both local and worldwide.
  • The practice of anonymously tithing our income for the support of the local church's leadership and for the continuance and growth of the church's ministry.
  • Maintaining an atmosphere of grace and love to receive all sincere seekers of the Lord, regardless of their background, race, or color, and to minister to their needs according to our ability.
  • Providing special ministry for children, youth, singles, widows and widowers, orphans, and any others in categories needing special care according to our ability to do so.
  • To encourage each member to discover his or her God-given ministry and to have opportunity to be discipled into that ministry.
  • To maintain an openness to the whole Body of Christ, as in the words of John Wesley, “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, charity.”

What We Believe

  • WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative Word of God. II Peter 1:21
  • WE BELIEVE the Godhead consists of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. II Cor. 13:14 Three in One and One in Three.
  • WE BELIEVE in the Deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
    I Timothy 3:16
  • WE BELIEVE in salvation through the redeeming blood of Christ. Hebrews 9:22
  • WE BELIEVE in the keeping power of God and a holy walk, not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Jude 24: Romans 8:4
  • WE BELIEVE in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and the present ministry of the Spirit in and through the believer. I Corinthians 12:8-11; Galatians 5:22-23
  • WE BELIEVE that divine healing is obtained on the basis of Atonement. I Peter 2:24
  • WE BELIEVE in Christ's imminent personal return in power and great glory, in His millennial reign and in His everlasting dominion. Acts 1:11; Rev. 20:4; Daniel 7:14
  • WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal punishment. John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:15
  • WE BELIEVE in evangelistic and missionary fervor. Acts 1:8; Mark 16:15-18
  • WE BELIEVE that sanctification, holiness, and the overcoming life is God's design for the church, which is the Bride Christ (Ephesians 5:25-27).
  • WE BELIEVE that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime and is a sacred institution established by God (Matthew 19:4-6).
  • WE BELIEVE that since mankind is created in God's image, human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, from conception to the grave (Genesis 127; Psalm 139:13-14).
  • WE BELIEVE that baptism is for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and is to be administered by immersion, thus bearing witness to the gospel of Christ's death, burial and resurrection for us, and our own new life in Him. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4).
  • WE BELIEVE that communion, when shared by believers, witnesses to the saving power of the gospel, to Christ's presence in His church, and looks forward to His victorious return (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
